Walking Precincts for Volunteers

April 24, 2010 - Starting next week we will begin to walk some precincts in certain parts of Orange County in order to recruit volunteers to work the June election. Some areas of the County are particularly hard to recruit in. In addition, in order to meet language requirements in certain precincts, as mandated by federal law, it is critical that we make sure we have adequate coverage in these precincts. Although it is more typical for campaign workers to walk precincts seeking votes this is a new approach we are taking in order to gain a face-to-face relationship with potential volunteers. We will evaluate this method closely and expand or contract our efforts depending on the results.
