Orange County, CA Elections Offers Media Preview of Vote Center Voting at Honda Center

Media preview on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 – The public-private partnership between the Registrar of Voters, Anaheim Ducks, and Honda Center will allow voters to cast their ballot at an iconic Orange County site.

SANTA ANA, CA – September 14, 2020 – A media preview is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. to showcase how the "Super Vote Center Site" will work at Orange County's Honda Center. The Registrar of Voters is excited to announce a new partnership with the Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks organization to expand access to voting in the upcoming November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election. For the first time in history, Honda Center will serve as a Vote Center, which will provide a full-service voting experience to Orange County voters.

Media preview of Vote Center set up at Honda Center. The media preview will include brief remarks by Orange County Registrar of Voters, Neal Kelley and Tim Ryan, Chief Executive Officer, Honda Center, and ocV!BE. Visuals will include demonstrations of in-person voting inside Honda Center, outdoor drive-thru voting operations, and Wild Wing, the Anaheim Ducks mascot.

WHEN
Wednesday, September 16, 2020, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 

Starting on Friday, October 30, and through Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, Honda Center will serve as a one-stop voting location for all voters in Orange County.  

This large "super" Vote Center site will be conveniently located off major freeways and includes an ample parking lot. The site will have the potential to process over a thousand voters in a single day. Additionally, voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot via drive-thru voting, which Orange County debuted in 2008. 

At Honda Center, voters will have several convenient options for casting their ballot or returning their vote-by-mail ballot. Options will include: 

  • Voting in person; 
  • Receiving a replacement ballot; 
  • Registering to vote; 
  • Updating their registration; 
  • Drive-thru voting; and  
  • Drive-thru vote-by-mail drop off. 

All voters will receive an official ballot through the mail for the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election in early October. All voters can check their registration, re-register, and register to vote at ocvote.com. For more information, call 714-567-7600 or visit ocvote.com.

Anaheim Ducks mascot, Wild Wing, will cast his vote using the voting booths. For additional visuals – the large supersite will be operational on October 30, 2020.
