      To qualify for office, a candidate shall be a registered voter in the district and, if applicable, in the trustee/area/division.

      Declaration of Candidacy forms may be obtained in the office of the Registrar of Voters, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana, beginning July 16, 2018, and must be filed in that office no later than

      August 10, 2018, 5:00 p.m.

      To obtain additional Candidate Filing information, call the Orange County Registrar of Voters, Candidate and Voter Services Section, at (714) 567-7600 or access its website at ocvote.gov.

      Appointment to each elective office will be made, as prescribed by California Elections Code Section 10515, in the event there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for such office and a petition for an election is not filed within the time period prescribed by said Section 10515.

      Notice is hereby given that the polls for said election will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  All ballots cast in said election will be counted centrally at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.

      Notice is further given that the vote-by-mail ballot processing will begin on October 9, 2018, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about December 6, 2018.  The vote-by-mail ballot process is open to the public at 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.

      Notice is further given that the manual tally of specific precincts will begin on November 7, 2018, at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.

      Notice is further given that a report on the results of the 1 percent manual tally will be included in the certification of the official canvass of the vote.

  • Notice of Election - Newport-Mesa Unified School District
    • Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District at the General Election to be held on November 6, 2018.  If passed, the proposed measure would limit the number of terms a member of the governing board may serve on the governing board of the school district to three four-year terms.

  • Notice of Election - Los Alamitos Unified School District
    • Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Los Alamitos Unified School District at the General Election on November 6, 2018.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $97 million in bonds at legal rates.  The bonds would be used for repairing deteriorating roofs, plumbing, sewer and electrical systems; upgrading school buildings and infrastructure to meet today’s academic standards and by updating science classrooms and computer labs to support growing demand for careers in science, engineering, and technology, and to improve student safety and campus security by installing security fencing, security cameras and emergency communication systems.  

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is August 13, 2018, 5:00 p.m., at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than 5 signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.   • Notice of Election - Santa Ana Unified School District
    • Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Santa Ana Unified School District at the General Election on November 6, 2018.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $232 million in bonds at legal rates.  The bonds would be used to update classrooms, science labs and facilities that prepare students for college and careers in math, science, technology, arts and skilled trades, improve student safety and security, repair/replace deteriorating roofs, plumbing and electrical systems and remove asbestos.  

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is August 16, 2018, 5:00 p.m., at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than 5 signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.   • Notice of Election - Lowell Joint School District
    • Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Lowell Joint School District at the General Election on November 6, 2018.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $48 million in bonds at legal rates. The bonds would be used to repair and modernize aging classrooms/school facilities at local elementary/intermediate schools, repair termite damage, dry rot, deteriorating roofs, plumbing, and electrical, improve student safety/security, and upgrade classrooms, science labs, and facilities to support student achievement in math, science, technology, and arts.  

      Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is August 20, 2018, 5:00 p.m., at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than 5 signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure.
