Notice is hereby given that a Gubernatorial Recall Election will be held on September 14, 2021 in the State of California.
The purpose of this election is to determine whether or not the officer named in the recall petition, Governor Gavin Newsom, shall be recalled. If a majority of the voters determine the officer sought to be recalled shall be removed from office, then the candidate receiving the highest number of votes for the office shall be elected for the unexpired term.
Notice is further given that starting Saturday, September 4, 2021, select Vote Centers will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting Saturday, September 11, 2021, all Vote Centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Election Day, September 14, 2021 all Vote Centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
All ballots cast will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.
Notice is further given that Vote-by-Mail ballot processing will begin on August 16, 2021 and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about October 14, 2021. The last day to request a replacement Vote-by-Mail ballot is September 7, 2021. The Vote-by-Mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.
Notice is further given that the Orange County Registrar of Voters will conduct a risk-limiting audit and/or a manual tally of specific precincts, and will begin on September 15, 2021 at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C,
Santa Ana.
