Observation Schedule for February 25, 2025 State Senate District 36 Special Primary Election

SANTA ANA, CA – January 13, 2025 – The public is invited to observe as the Orange County Registrar of Voters conducts the February 25, 2025 State Senate District 36 Special Primary Election. All ballot processing, counting, testing and audits will take place at the Orange County Registrar of Voters Office 1300 S. Grand Ave., Bldg. C, Santa Ana, CA 92705. Observers are also welcome to visit Vote Center and ballot drop box locations throughout State Senate District 36 to observe daily operations.

Orange County Grand Jury Commends Registrar of Voters excellence in conducting the 2024 Presidential Election

Orange County Grand Jury studied the Registrar of Voters’ operations over three months, finding the Registrar of Voters exceeded recommended practices for ensuring election integrity.

SANTA ANA, CA – January 7, 2025 – The 2024-2025 Orange County Grand Jury today commended the Registrar of Voters team for their excellence in conducting the 2024 Presidential General Election.

Candidate Filing Period for the 36th State Senate District Special Primary Election begins on Thursday, December 19

Eligible Orange County residents interested in running for State Senator, 36th District can file candidacy documents with the Registrar of Voters until January 2.

SANTA ANA, CA – December 16, 2024 – Persons living in the 36th State Senate District interested in being a candidate to fill the vacant State Senate office can seek to qualify for the ballot from Thursday, December 19, 2024 through Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Pursuant to California Elections Code § 15628, the Orange County Registrar of Voters will be conducting a recount of the ballots cast in the Presidential General Election for the City of Garden Grove, City Council District 6.  This election was conducted on November 5, 2024 and was certified on December 3, 2024.

Pursuant to California Elections Code § 15628, the Orange County Registrar of Voters will be conducting a recount of the ballots cast in the Presidential General Election for the Fullerton School District, Trustee Area 5, Governing Board Member.  This election was conducted on November 5, 2024 and was certified on December 3, 2024.

Pursuant to California Elections Code § 15628, the Orange County Registrar of Voters will be conducting a recount of the ballots cast in the Presidential General Election for the City of Garden Grove Mayor.  This election was conducted on November 5, 2024 and was certified on December 3, 2024.

Pursuant to California Elections Code § 15628, the Orange County Registrar of Voters will be conducting a recount of the ballots cast in the Presidential General Election for the City of Costa Mesa Mayor.  This election was conducted on November 5, 2024 and was certified on December 3, 2024.

Orange County, CA Registrar of Voters Certifies the 2024 Presidential General Election Results

Prior to certifying the results, Registrar of Voters conducted several post-election voting system tests and audits.

SANTA ANA, CA – December 3, 2024 – Registrar of Voters Bob Page today certified the official Orange County results of the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election.

Total voter turnout for the election was 76.1 percent. Of the 1,417,397 ballots cast by Orange County voters and counted, 77.2 percent cast a vote-by-mail ballot and 22.8 percent cast an in-person ballot at one of 184 Vote Centers throughout the county.
