SANTA ANA, CA - Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley has just certified the official results of the November General Election held on November 6, 2018.

Total turnout from the election was 71% with 44.2% of voters casting their ballot by mail, 25.2% casting their ballot in a polling place, and 1.5% casting their ballot in an Early Vote Center. This is the highest turnout midterm election in Orange County, CA since 1970, when turnout was 76.3%.

Turnout in neighboring counties south of Santa Barbara had lower voter turnout compared to Orange County:

SANTA ANA, CA - Orange County will conduct its second risk-limiting pilot audit beginning Monday, November 26, 2018. The ballot polling audit is not required under California law and is being conducted as an additional pilot to refine our approaches to risk-limiting audits.

SANTA ANA, CA - "Pop up" mobile voting returns to Orange County beginning tomorrow at the Santa Ana MainPlace Mall. Additional locations can be found by visiting ocvote.gov/early. Any Orange County voter can vote their official ballot at any "pop up" mobile voting location.

SANTA ANA, CA - The Registrar of Voters is set to begin early in-person voting for the November 6, 2018 General Election at eight Vote Center locations throughout Orange County starting on Saturday, October 27, 2018.

Casting a ballot early is suitable to many voters that do not wish to vote-by-mail but cannot make it to their polling place on Election Day. In addition to the Registrar of Voters' office in Santa Ana locations will include civic centers throughout Orange County as well as several retail locations.

SANTA ANA, CA - Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will take place Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for the November 6, 2018 General Election.

The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot.

The process is open to the public.

SANTA ANA, CA – The deadline to register to vote in the November 6, 2018 General Election is Monday, October 22, 2018.  Online voter registration is available, which allows new voters to complete the entire process online at ocvote.gov/registration.  Paper registration forms can be obtained at the Registrar of Voters, post offices, libraries and city halls.

SANTA ANA, CA - This amended press release provides updates to contests where there are extensions to the filing period. The Registrar of Voters announced today that the nomination period has been extended until August 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m. for the offices listed below because the incumbent failed to file Nomination Papers by the August 10, 2018 deadline.

Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file the Nomination Papers until August 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m., in the office of the Registrar of Voters, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana, California. 

SANTA ANA, CA - Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will take place Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for the August 7, 2018 32nd Senate District Special General Election.

The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot. All previous tests of the voting system have proven it to be 100% accurate.

The process is open to the public.
