Orange County Voting Systems to be Checked for Accuracy

Test to take place in preparation for 32nd Senate District Special General Election


SANTA ANA, CA - Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will take place Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for the August 7, 2018 32nd Senate District Special General Election.

The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot. All previous tests of the voting system have proven it to be 100% accurate.

The process is open to the public.

2nd Risk-Limiting Audit to be Conducted in Orange County, CA

2nd risk-limiting audit being conducted to ensure that all ballots identified, and included in the final tally, are audited.


SANTA ANA, CA - Orange County will conduct a second risk-limiting audit beginning Thursday, June 28, 2018. The second ballot polling audit is not required under California law and is being conducted as an additional pilot to refine our approaches to risk-limiting audits.

Vote-by-Mail Application Deadline Tuesday May 29th

SANTA ANA, CA - The Orange County Registrar of Voters is reminding voters that the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the June 5, 2018 Statewide Primary Election is approaching. Applications must be received by midnight on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. 

Applications from registered voters may be submitted online (ocvote.gov/mail) until midnight May 29, 2018. Voters also have the option of applying in-person at the Registrar of Voters (1300 South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana) up to 5:00 p.m. on May 29, 2018. 

Unique "Pop Up" Mobile Voting Debuts in Orange County Tomorrow

Mobile "pop up" voting unit is outfitted with glass walls, LED lighting, skylights and pop-out wraparound deck


SANTA ANA, CA – "Pop up" mobile voting will be launched for the first time in Orange County beginning tomorrow at the Santa Ana Civic Center. Additional locations can be found by visiting ocvote.gov/early. Any Orange County voter can vote at any "pop up" mobile voting locations.

SANTA ANA, CA - The Registrar of Voters mailed a record number of vote-by-mail ballots to voters today. The number of voters receiving a permanent vote-by-mail ballot has quadrupled in the past eight years.

Poll Workers Needed for 2018 June Primary Election

A 2016 increase in volunteer stipend is an incentive to potential volunteers.


SANTA ANA, CA – The Orange County Registrar of Voters is in need of poll workers throughout Orange County. Election Day is June 5, 2018 and hundreds of poll workers are still needed as Inspectors and Clerks. As long as an individual is registered to vote in California they are eligible to volunteer in Orange County.
